Re: Antonio Esfandiari exclusively WPT?
I definitely agree that he's a very good tournament player, although I think that the whole rocks and rings garbage really detracts from him as a poker player and makes him more a show-man, but...

Antonio Esfandiari exclusively WPT?
I haven't seen "the magician" on any of the WSOP broadcasts this year and so far I haven't seen or heard anything about him in the Main Event. Does he only play WPT events? I see him all the time at...

This may be completely pointless but...
I was thinking of this just now and I wanted to get some opinions from y'all.
When you are first dealt your cards at the beginning of a hand, do you think it's better to first look at your cards...

Re: ($27) Yicky KK hand
Folds in disgust. Chances are he hit a flush, or at least that's my read. Maybe Ax /images/graemlins/diamond.gif or a set.

Did I make the right laydown?
Game is 200 NL. Hero has about 90 and us UTG+1. UTG is a pretty tigh player, was shortstacked for most of the time I was at the table so I didn't really get a great read on his play.
Hero is...

Standard Fold?
CO has ~500
Button has ~100
BB has ~45
Table has a full 10, CO is fairly aggressive, Button is apparently good friends with CO and is a pretty straightforward player, and BB is a little tricky...

What\'s the ruling here?
Action is post-flop. Player 1 bets. Player 2 calls. Player 3 pushes all of his chips into the middle (only about twice the original bet) but does not say raise or all-in. He simply pushes his chips...

Re: KK on the button. Yes, I tuck....
So, I was going to wait for my 100th post to be something exciting, but I guess I'll comment here.
My guess is that he had at best AK or JJ because he checked through and only bet 11 on the river....

Re: Aces played poorly [100nl 6max party]
You have to raise pre-flop to at least 4, if not 5, and since it's NL100, probably even 6.
What I don't like at all was the size of your flop raise. You have to raise it to 8 or 10, beause he's...

Re-Raising Pre-Flop
There aren't any real examples here or hands to use as demonstrations, but I'd like to get some opinions on this. Assume that the game is a 200NL game, and the original raise is to 10 straight.

Re: 2+2er yahtzem in round of 16 (nt)
Yeah, hell of a play is probably too much, but it was a pretty good play nonetheless. He hesitated for a little bit before re-raising all-in, so he must have been absolutely sure of his read that his...

Re: 2+2er yahtzem in round of 16 (nt)
Hell of a play- facing a raise and then another raise, he had the presence of mind to know that his TT was good enough, and then when that set hit it was all but over. Good stuff.

Re: To pair and flush-draw against a reraise..
I don't like the push, really. To call your pre-flop raise he has to have AT LEAST AQ and clearly better. And while I don't know if a small pocket pair like 55 is great for calling a raise with, he...
