All Along the Watchtower has got to be a champ on that count.

I don't think Cash's redo of Hurt was as good as the original.

I don't think Take Me to the River was an original of The Talking Heads, and I think I heard the original and liked the Heads' version better.

Also, Ted Nugent did Cat Scratch Fever way better than the Pope.

Even Lou Reed admits that the Cowboy Junkies' cover of Sweet Jane is superior to the original Velvet Underground studio cut.

Gary Jules's "Mad World" is far better than the Tears for Fears version. Also, Blind Melon did a cover of "Three is a Magic Number" which is incredible.

Oh, also Tom Jones' version of Kiss is better than the one Prince did.

I disagree. Dylan's version is severely underrated. I like the Hendrix version, but they're both great music.
