I am next to act. The pot is $165. He just bet $80. I have an open ended straight draw which will probably be the best hand if it hits. The bettor has $705 stack left. I have a $820 left. Considering that it was bet on the flop $15, and that there are three people that are left in the hand. What is the best thing to do in this situation?

1) use bison's hand converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi) to elicit more responses. We hate looking at scripts.

2) RAISE PF with AQs!!! Every time.

3) flop call is fine.

4) i would call the turn, you have no immediate odds but if you get callers your implied odds are fine; no flush draw, i wouldn't expect to see a raise as this table is sooooo passive.

When an A comes be careful, you may be shown A-rag 2 pair, a Q is worrying as any 9 wins. if you hit your "double belly buster" [this is not actually an OESD...as such...i mean, it is but isnt QJT9, it's 8_TJQ_A which is called a double-belly-buster, better concealed than OESD].

Summary: call, hope for overcallers and jack it up when 9/K falls.

Regards,
Pete Harris

You have AQ and the flop is T4J.....you don't have an open-ended straight draw. You have a gut-shot straight draw, needing the K. T80 is pretty weak for him to have much but I'm certain he has you beat. I would fold here. You can push and try to steal the pot but with all the weak betting earlier, he'd most likely know it was a bluff and call the all-in. You could call and hope for a K on the river. The T80 bet is weak so may be worth calling.

I'm obviously missing something here. So far there is AQ with a board of JT48. Where's the open-ended draw? You have a straight draw but not open-ended. Big difference. If a K was on the board but not the T, you would still have a straight draw....not an open-ended straight draw because the Ace closes one end. Open-ended straight draw means you have 4 cards in a row with another card on either end making the straight.

A K or a 9 give him a straight, I don't know if the term open ended straight draw still applies but its the same number of outs. I think this is also refered to as a double belly buster.

This isn't called and open ender thought it does have the same amt. of outs. It is called a Double Belly Buster St8 Draw where a 9 or a king could make your st8.
