I'm thinking of playing at Foxwoods on Sunday, Nov 9. Is it possible to play in a regular game of 4-8HE during the WPF? Also, what is the normal wait these days for a table on the weekend since Mohegan closed?

Sure it's possible. There will probably be 5 or 6 4-8 games going. Just be ready for a long wait. If you are only on the list for one, I wouldn't be surprised if you have to wait over an hour.

Also, what is the normal wait these days for a table on the weekend since Mohegan closed?

It's pretty long sometimes, of course it depends on the time of day. Half an hour to an hour wouldn't surprise me.

If you can, get there early in the morning. I got there last Saturday at 8:30 and there was open seating.

Thanks for the input - I was at FW last Friday afternoon and I was seated within 10 minutes.

BTW, I was at the table with an autoshuffle machine and everyone seemed taken by the new invention. I've seen these machines at Bellagio on some tables but they haven't put them on all tables as of my last trip in Sept..

I like these machines - it speeds up the slow dealers.

Back from the dead?

30 mins or so is usually about right. Put yourself on the 2-4, 4-8 and 5-10 list and you should be in a game within 15, then move around as you wish.

I played 4-8 all day Monday at the Foxwoods. The games fluctuated between open seating and an incredibly long list.

I suggest you get there by 10:00 am.

Enjoy yourself.

Back from the dead?

Yeah, but just barely.

Put yourself on the 2-4, 4-8 and 5-10 list and you should be in a game within 15, then move around as you wish.

That's usually the case, but I was on the list for 4-8, 5-10, and 10-20 Saturday afternoon and had to wait nearly an hour for a seat. The place is just a zoo right now.

Last time i was there (April for the NEPC) I was on the 5-10 list for 2 hours....this year I assume it will be worse. I actually sat down and played 5-10 Omaha8ob a game I had never played before just so that I could get a seat.

Happily at this time I play higher limits so I will go on all lists from 4-8 to 20-40 right when I get there, and that should get me in a game sooner. I do have a feeling however that this will be a very frustrating weekend, especially when I start stuck $565 with my "donation" to the tourney

Ouch. How many 20-40 tables they have going? The games usually suck although a few of the "regulars" think they're a lot better than they are. If they have 3 or 4 tables a couple have to be very beatable. I don't think I'd sit either way. Especially how bad I've been running recently and feel like its affecting me. Me and MaxPower will probably be up some time very soon although not sure of the details yet. Might even be a midweek trip. I'll put something there when we know.

Zack,

I visited Foxwoods earlier this week. They had two 20-40 games going, however they had three no limit games going.

If you do not arrive early, prepare to wait for a seat.

NL?!? Really? they've had a regular 5-5 PL game although when the weekends are there and people are feeling frisky its 5-10 PL which actually makes it quite a bigger game. What were the stakes/buy-ins?

Hi Ken,

The Foxwoods spread a $5-$5 blind no limt game all afternoon. Later on in the night they started either a 10-10 and 15-25 blind structure.

Minimum buy in for the NLHE game was $200 with 5/5 blinds. However, most players had between $500 and $1000 and a few had $1000 plus. I played at all 3 tables during the course of the day and the games were excellent. The line ups were rather weak (lots of WPT wannabes and players who seemed like they had not played NL before) and the games played very much like the $100 NLHE tables on line with lots of pre flop callers. The game did turn crappy when all the WPT wannabes left to play in the Super Sat at 6PM (might have been 7PM) but seemed to be picking up again when I left at 10PM.

Someone told me there was an interest list for a NL game with 2 $25 blinds on Sunday night. I don't know if the game ever went, that's some big action though.

There were 4 or 5 games going for every limit if I remember correctly.

I haven't been going down much lately (mostly because of how crowded it has been) I'm most likely going to make a couple of trips in the next week or two though. Hopefully I'll make it down when you are there.

I had the same experience two years ago during the NEPC and this was before the WPT. The waiting lists were insane. They were speading some very high limit games and there were long lists for all of them. I can only imagine what is going on there now.

Hey MG,

so they went back to a 5-5 pot limit? When I went two weeks ago it had changed to a 5-10, 300$ buy in, with a horrendous time charge of 8$ every 1/2 hr. Annoying. If they switched it back to 5-5 that's good to know.

Hey Leon,

They had a no limit game with 5 and 5 blinds. I do not know if they had a pot limit game.

The no limit game with the 5 and 5 blinds had a 200 buy in.

Good luck.
