Clearly I win or tie. How does this compare to just betting until they ship me the pot (my standard line).

I like the flop bet/call followed by the turn bet, but jesus follow through and 3-bet.

3-bet the turn and lead the river. You get the same 4 bets in this way and don't risk him taking a free showdown (in which you miss 2 bets).

If he checks behind on the river you are very sad. 3-bet the turn and lead the river.
