View Full Version : Absolute Rake is HUGE!

I was looking through my pokertracker database, and at the NL10c-25c limits, the average rake on party poker is 3.2%, the average rake on absolute is 11%.

I'm not sure it's such a great site to bonus whore, even with the bonuses and rb. What do others think?

there was some discussion in another thread that this could be a pokertracker bug, anyone know if it is?

I don't know, but I think someone should post to the pokertracker forums...In limit games, the rake is at 8%...OUCH. Clearly, when a site rakes upto 5%, it shouldn't reach that much. I'm 90+% sure it's a bug.

Pokertracker is showing the rake at Absolute for 2/4 to be $1.03 per pot, which is ~4%.

Maybe you should make sure you have the latest patch from a few days ago.

How do you calculate rake % using Pokertracker?
I'd think you'd need average pot size or total handle (sum of all pots played).

Just click on the summary tab, and it is in the rightmost column.

It is a bug in PT. You need to go to the PT forum and get the beta download to fix it. Since it is a beta download it is found in the forum not where it is usually found on the front page.

ok...i fixed mine...make sure to download the latest patch from here linky (http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8573)

follow the instructions about exporting absolute hands loaded since 10/18, purging sessions, and reloading absolute hands.

The rake fell in 1/2 for me...down to 4.4% for .5/1 6max limit holdem and 3.75% for 1/2 6max. It turned out to be lower than the rake at equivalent party stakes...AWESOME

My bonus cleared is 90% of rake collected from me...AMAZING

Strange, my 2/4 6 Max rake % is also higher than my 1/2 6 Max rake %.

4.25% @ 2/4
3.52% @ 1/2

In comparision, Poker Stars 2/4 6 max has 2.71% raked for me this month. Given the bonuses and rizzlebizzle at Absolute, I guess I'm ok with this extra rake.

To be fair to Pat it was not a bug. Absolute unexpectedly changed their HH format. He quickly released a patch to compensate but not everyone got it.

The effect is that uncalled bets are added to the rake instead of being credited back to the winning player.

Downloading the patch will protect future hands. To fix old hands you need to export the HH, purge the hands from the DB, and reload them.

I realized that as well pretty early on as i realized that pokertracker would have me down 40 bucks when i was up 30. I instantly went to pokertracker.com and saw that pat was on top of things.

Although, because of a misclick, i almost purged all of my eurobet hands for the last few days, luckily i was able to recover it.
