WTF is up with Pokerroom? first they increase their rake, then they fix it so you only get .7 points, instead of a full point, when the pot is raked $1, and now they increase their clearing requirements from 7 points per dollar to 10. Screw those bastards.

Previously, a 5/10 hand raked $3 earned 1 point towards a 7x bonus.

Now, a 5/10 hand raked $3 earns 2.1 points towards a 10x bonus, effectively making it a 5x bonus.

Thanks PokerRoom.

This is what is going to kill them in the long run. They will do fine in the short run with the 3/6 and above games, but where will all the new players that graduate from the lower levels come from?

They are killing their lower games and will lose the people who move up in levels. Eventually even the big games will die. But by the time they realize this, it will be too late.

i have had a bad experience with pokerroom before signing up and decided that there are too many quality rooms out there to have to lower myself to their standards. I wish them all the worst.

It used to be that players playing at the lower limits got very few points if any because the rake never went above $.50. Now any raked hand at $.10 or higher gets .07 pts per $.10, and that ratio stays the same all the way up to their max of $3 rake or 2.1 pts. What this means is that a 7 point per dollar bonus is the same as 100% rakeback and at full LHE ring games 3/6 and higher, their bonus is better than Party Poker's 5x raked hand bonuses. A 10 pt bonus is 70% rakeback and this seems a reasonable rate, they are out to make some money after all.

What's probably going to be a thing of the past are the bonuses that actually cost a poker room money (I don't understand how places like Absolute survive) and Empire poker already demonstrated once that they don't mind kicking people like this off their network (probably regret it now, ha!). It's fine that some players are never comfortable playing outside the microlimits (did you know that online poker is rigged?) but poker rooms want long term customers who don't mind paying a reasonable amount of rake as part of doing business. A %70 discount for tables that are already big money makers for me is alright in my book.

The rake at Pokerroom and their skins is awful anything, 3/6 and lower, you can actually end up paying 3X the rake you would at Pokerstars and 2x Party, usually this is around the "sweet spots" of pots 6 big bets.

They recently changed from 1 pt/1$ raked, that gave 0.5 Pts per .50$. Now they went across the board for .07 pts/ .1$ raked. It makes it easier for micro-limit players to clear their bonuses.

Seriously though Pokerroom is going downhill, I finished a bonus there a couple of months back. The high rake makes the games unappealing to me and alot of other lower limit players.

Could someone please be a dear and post the rake schedule at PokerRoom? I had trouble finding it myself.

They have all the MAC players, so I don't think they're going anywhere just yet...
