Using TV as a Monitor

i've been thinking about upgrading my video card to one with a s-video support so i can play my poker games on the TV. anyone here tied this before? any problems with doing that?

resolution is very poor, wouldn't work, at least not well, not on a TV where you were using S-video

if you had a high res TV and used DVI, it would probably be okay.

when i first got into online poker i thought i could get an adapter to use my 50" tv as a monitor. i figured that it must support great resolution, but it doesnt. tvs wont get you 1600x1200 if thats what youre looking for. i think youll get 800x640, but am not sure.

been there done that , cant tell what suit the cards are and if your lucky you will play one table at a time...real hard on the eyes!!
