Hello all,

I made a statistical analysis of board cards on an online poker site. I posted the analysis to Internet forum, if anyone is interested, look for my post with subject "Statistical analysis of board cards.".

I'd also like to hear comments on it, what features you would like to see etc.?

Mongeron: What kind of statistics have you accumulated? I would like to know. How can I contact you Internet forum location?

How can you efficiently collect the data required to do a thorough and some-what complete analysis. It would require lots of work and sofisticated computer software. I suspect you are an expert mathematician & programmer. I also suspect that you work or consult for an Internet card casino. Otherwise you are putting a lot of effort into a hobby.

Assuming most Internet Card Casinos are honest and the have good poker software, then the quality of the pseudo random generator for dealing cards does not have to be perfect provided this generator has a long cycle time before it repeats. Also secondary degrees of freedom can be utilized to insure good random mumbers.But....

I feel that a dishonest Internet Card Casino could salt the cards from time to time, and that it would be essentially impossible for an outsider to detect or really do anything about.... The only thing you could do is to stop playing there and spread the word.

Regards,

Carl

Click on the word "internet" on the left of this screen, its a 2+2 forum.

That is what we use the Internet Gambling forum on this site for... Known as "The Zoo" and occasionally "The Jerry Springer of the 2+2 forums" good work gets done in between the entertainment, come visit us sometime.

Dear Lori,

Thank you very much for the kind, meaningful, and generous reply. I will look into the sources you presented. I thank you for the reference to the ZOO -- I am thinking of parking my spare cage in that Zoo and spend some time there every now and then. Hopefully people will visit my cage and sneak me a snack on occasion....

Most Warm Regards,

Well, poker is my hobby, and I have the hand histories because I want to analyze my play. When the debate about rigged dealing arose once again, I decided to see, how big a task it would be to make the data gathering program.

It wasn't too big a task, took only a few hours. I have still several ideas for the program, I'll see when I have time to implement them. I'll post the results then.
