I'll give you a full tournament report:

After missing a few hands i load up stars and find JT which I raise to 80, got called by the BB i think. Flop QQJ, he minbets, i raise to 120, he calls. Turn J, he bets i call. River K he bets i call, he wins with KJ.

I have 600 left, fold a few hands and find AK in EP. Raise to 120 (15-30 lvl), someone miniraises and i push. He has AA and i'm out /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Didnt you both have JJJQQ in first hand? I dont get it?

I finished 9th (Ricky Slade).

With 12 players left I just went from 3rd place to out in 4 hands.

ajmartino raised from the button, SB moved in for a little more and I (RickySlade) reraised all in for 10k total w/ AT. ajmartino folded and the SB had A9 and rivered a 9.

then ajmartino raised all in for 19k from the button w/ a blind of 600 and i called all in for 9k w/ KK. He had A3s and flopped an Ace. LOL.

Figured someone would go overtop.
As soon as I limped I regretted it. ANd then the 3rd club came.
Why O' Lord did I play like a donkey?
GG all and thanks to the organizers amd, hey, the money I won off Megabet is sweeter than 1st place.

My TT lost all-in to a 44 called by a fellow EU'er - a stack call I guess - and I see he's just given his whole stack to a NA - oh dear

That A/10 vs. A/9 hand, I had actually raised with A/10 of spades, the short-stacked pushed (I had every intention of calling) and then Rick (I think?) pushed and I got out of the way, only to see I was actually ahead, oy vey! Saved me some chips though, since the 9 hit the river.

Alright, gotta be into work in 5 hours, going to try and take a nap, good game all, never thought I'd make it as far as I did. Final table and was chip leader with some lucky hands and catches, but couldn't make that first place happen.

Congrats to the final table people who cashed in the game. Hopefully we can have another one of these in the near future. After Christmas?

In the meantime we encourage you to come out to play the MTT Brown Trout games every Wednesday and Heads Up on Thursdays.

Well done to Jcardshark for the nice win.

A big thanks is due from everybody to cha59 and Stoneii for captaining the two teams. This is more work than it looks like, and they both did a swell job.

Gl at the tables.

Thanks to Dr. Physic for making this game happen. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the results speak for themselves. Thanks to all who played for North America. Europe had a big turnout and we pummeled them senseless /images/graemlins/shocked.gif, early and often. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats to:
-Jcardshark for winning
-all who made the final table
-the whole North American Team (who is now 3-1 in this series) /images/graemlins/cool.gif

It was fun doing this and I hope we have an even bigger turnout for the next one.

its absolutely unbelievable to me that someone who plays as much poker as you can be this big of a whiner.

i mean, seriously, shut up. no one cares that someone gave you a bad beat (and it wasn't even that "bad" of a beat). it happens to all of us, every day. get over it.

Megabet only wants you to beat him when you're ahead. He's NEVER sucked out on another individual in his LIFE. And he absolutely does NOT want you putting your money into the pot when he is a favorite.

Thank you, this has been a public service announcement for the Megabet for WSOP Runner-Up Campaign.

p.s. Megabet, in the future, if we're in a hand together, please type in the chat box your exact holding. I will only call you if I can beat you, k?

Yep

We got our a$$es kicked, hangs head /images/graemlins/frown.gif Our tactics were all wrong, we went in with the best hands when clearly, as Mega will doubtless agree, that was a huge weakness in our plan.

We will adjust for next time /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

And a big congrats to cha, enjoy /images/graemlins/frown.gif (clears throat and tries to stop bottom lip quivering).

So what if it was a bad call? or even a terrible call? I think even the best of players make mistakes sometimes. Add to that the fact that it was a 2+2 tourney, and I'm willing to guess a lot of the guys didn't really care if they were playing "optimally".

It was a $20 tourney, which isn't that much for many people. You, believe it or not, make some mistakes that people better than you probably recognize as huge flaws. Perhaps there are people that make huge flaws that you can recognize and they can't. I'm sorry if the $20 was a huge blow to your bankroll, or if not winning was a huge blow to your ego.

Complaining about it is not going to make us all believe you are truly a great player for "knowing" you were ahead when you put your chips in the middle.

Any one who plays their A or Im at work game in these events is missing an opportunity imho.

For me its all about taking the grind out and putting the fun back into poker. When I have the chips to spare I allways make a few loose calls, and gambool it up.

Its a release that allows me to be more ruthless, logical but mostly robotic when Im grinding it out on the 9-5.

Had I been trying then I would have won easily, wheres the fun in that? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

For me its all about taking the grind out and putting the fun back into poker. When I have the chips to spare I allways make a few loose calls, and gambool it up.

I just finished reading this entire thread and want to thank MegaBet. It's nice to know there is someone out there that takes a beat worse than me. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Haha. /images/graemlins/grin.gif I accept it when playing the fishbowl that is the $55 SNGs on Party. Bad players = more bad beats, but is very much +EV for me long term. But when a 2+2er makes such a terrible terrible call it makes me wonder why I am giving out advice. If people don't listen I guess I am wasting my time.

Have you thought at all about your flop push? You did hit top pair on a scary board but still shoved all your chips in like a $6 donk.

[/ QUOTE ]

"shoved my chips in like a $6 donk" ?? Yeah, such a bad play putting all my chips in and overbetting the pot when I knew I had the best hand, protecting it against the flush draw and I knew I'd probably be called by a worst hand. Yeah, terrible donkish behaviour by me!

Sheesh!

[/ QUOTE ]

If he thinks either of his overcard outs were good then he was a 1.3-1 dog and the pot was laying him 1.4-1. If both his outs were good, he was a favorite.
Not to mention he had you covered and that bet smelled fishy as hell.
Plus he had a chance ot knock you out and start the circus that is you whining.
Who did this to poor Megabet? Please chime in.

swas7366 is more of a lurker than a poster. He emailed me this:

"I thought i made a good call, lots of outs and only about 1/3 my stack. besides he had just got a semi bad beat a couple of hands before, thought maybe he was tilting."

Nice hand! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I pushed with A/10 as well... after the hand you said....
