should i get away from this?

This is very typical of my play. I play tight aggresive poker for a couple of hours. Folding lots of hands and winning small pots and inevitably losing a big pot or two each night.

In this case I probably should have raised 4*BB preflop but 3*BB was usually enough to get a single caller at this table (at least when no one else has entered the pot yet).

Villain is VP$P 28%, PFR% 1.35%, AF .53, WTS$ 37% for 74 hands.

Knowing these stats, how would that effect the way you play this hand?

Definately raise more preflop if you are planning on getting it all in (or most of it all in) without improving. Yeah, you probably should be getting away from it, Villain either hand you smoked on the flop or smoked now.

Let's look at likely holdings here:
A7 that took a stand, 56, 76, 73 (top pair + gutshot): this one is less likely due to villain's stats, 6 (mid pair + gutshot), 75, 35, 78, sets, and overpairs.

Most likely of these are A7, 56, 67, sets, and overpairs, although with the weaker overpairs you're likely to get repopped on the flop.

I'm not going to do the math because I dont' have time, but I'm going to guess that it's going to be leaning towards a fold.

Anyone want to comment on how this player's stats effect my postflop plays? He's a little loose and sees 37% of showdowns. Would you classify him as a calling station?

Regarding the preflop raise? Depending on game conditions my standard raise is usually 3XBB + (1BB per limper). When playing with super loose limpers (VP$P &gt; 50%) I'll raise higher in order to make them pay the price to see the flop, which they usually do.
