I've never seen it done before. I don't know "weird."
You are going to cook it first, I hope.
I would say it'd probably be better without tomato sauce, probably with some butter, salt and pepper instead.

Yes I would cook it first.
However, for a pasta carbonara, the trick to making it best is to crack a raw egg over the pasta and stir it in quickly as the last ingredient. It gives the whole pasta a nice glaze and is very tasty.

IndieMom would make a meat sauce with a few chopped hard boiled eggs in it. She's sicilian FWIW. It was goot.

Uhhhhhhhhhh... why'd you ask the question if you know the answer?
Edit: I see what you're asking.
I don't see why not, but I don't see why either.
Just make carbonara!

It sounds like the Egg something that they serve at the Thai restaurant. I'll look at the menu when I get home.

THose are two totally different situations. One involves using one raw egg to top off a carbonara sauce (no tomatos involved) It does not solidify.
The other involves having a scrambled egg, chopped up mixed in a pasta.

Absolutely not.
However, poached or fried eggs work best in this situation. Especially in Ramen.

Not bacon. Pancetta. It's not _that_ different, but the difference is important.
I make a damn good carbonara.

You can sort of poach an egg in spaghetti sauce. It was introduced to me as "eggs purgatory".
It's pretty good.
No. It's surprisingly good if the eggs are runny enough.
And carbonara is terrific when done right.

This will be good. I skip the cream as well.
If you all are looking for a recipe, James Peterson's Sauces (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0471292753/qid=1127341094/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-2857921-7586228?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) has a good one. Everything else I've tried from that book has been great too.
