i'd like to be able to log-in to my computer at home while i'm at school so i can play poker at the school libraries. this will allow the tournament histories & cash game hand histories to be stores on my machine.
does anyone have a good guide for doing this via a computer on a wireless network. any help is appreciated.

You can access your computer via a https website. Dont worry, it is secure.

You do if you don't have a static IP. If you have a static, then I recommend VNC (But logmein.com is REALLY good).

Well if you want to use RDP (mstsc) than you will need to have port 3389 open on your firewall/router and pointed to your machine. Also you will need 3389 to be available outbound from the network you are connecting on. TO download RDP for a Windows 2000 machine you can google for "Download Remote Desktop Protocol".
Being a Network Engineer, I would use Logmein over this method any day.

chk out mywebexpc.com, it hits port 80 (http) and its allowed through most if not all corporate firewalls.
