Ok, so as a poor (sorta) college student, I want to make mac & cheese, but don't want to have to pay for the not very good, relatively expensive Kraft stuff or the not very good relatively inexpensive Kraft knock off stuff.

What's the best way to get some sort of cheese powder and/or sauce to put on my noodles for mac & cheese goodness. Bonus points for taste and being cheap as [censored].

As an added poll, what's the best noodle for mac & cheese (though I already have my opinion)?

I prefer the elbows. But then again, I prefer Easy Mac.

The shell Kraft/Velveeta stuff is good but expensive. For $.66 a box I think regular Kraft is just fine.

Wheels are gross.

Shells can be good, though sometimes the cheapo ones just don't taste right. I vote elbows solely for safety factor.

Try putting a chopped slice of bacon in it.

dunno how much it costs...

but velveeta cheese and shells.

cheese is in readily dispensable package.

off the charts.

This is what I eat. They run about $3 at the grocery store, but you can buy packs of 5, for around $7 or so at costco type places.
