I think this is a pretty easy call, anyone fold or 3bet?

eviljeff ...

I'm thinking b/c or c/r/c ... which is better? anyone suggest a different line?

I'm not too worried about the straight, but I'd be worried that your villain might. So I'd just go ahead and bet here.

If he raises you've got a decision to make -- his turn play represented a J more than the straight (unless he had specifically T8). So a 3-bet might not be a bad idea if you can muster up the courage. You'll definitely get called by J9, AJ, etc.

I would probably fold the turn. I would put villain on at least 2 pair here most of the time. I think the river is a good place to bet-call. I'd hate to get this checked through with a set and I think 4 to a straight on the board scares a lot of players.

I'm usually bet/calling here.

You really put villian on at least 2 pair every time a turn bet is raised HU?

MP3 is raising on the turn, to me it looks like he has either a pair of J's or has hit 2 pair (J9 is common).

I doubt, unless he is a tricksy little one he would bet out on an open ended straight. At this level most people will wait until they land them to start going crazy.

I would bet out on the river, most of the time I think he'll be calling.

No. But the pot is small. We need to be ahead about 25% of the time to warrant a calldown (8:2). We're not good that often in my experience.

I do agree that even if villian has a J we're now in bad shape. I just don't see how we can specifically think he has 2 pair as opposed to any J.

You're right, I think putting villian on 2 pair is a hasty move. Interestingly enough though, we have a lot more outs against most 2 pairs than we do against a J. I still don't think that I would call the turn.
