fortune room has a 50% first time deposit bonus up to 250$. I recently deposited on to this site after i was recommended to play 'Aces & Faces 10 Play Power Poker' to clear the bonus.

how ever upon reading the terms and conditions regarding the bonus i came across this on fortune room's website

# Blackjack and Video Poker play is also restricted - but not entirely excluded - for purposes of meeting the wagering requirements. As with other games exclusions, this is due to similar "bonus abuse" problems. Please note that only 20% of the above wagering obligations can be met by playing Blackjack and Video Poker, which is calculated as follows:

* Assuming you receive a $250 deposit match;
* Your wagering requirements would be $15,000 - calculated as ($500 Deposit x 20) + ($250 Deposit Match x 20);
* In which case, only $3,000 of your total Blackjack and Video Poker play (20% of $15,000) may be counted towards your total wagering requirements.

This is my very first attempt at casino whoring but it looks like i can't play blackjack or video poker to clear the bonus alone.

so basically I have 500$ sitting in some account and I have no idea how to clear the bonus. anyone clear this bonus before?

I cleared it before VP was partially restricted, which made things a lot easier.

Obviously, first you are going to want to wager $3K playing either VP or Blackjack. Vegas Strip BJ has the lowest HA out of these options. After that, you have to wager another $12K on a different game. Go with Three Card Poker, Ante/Play (not Pairplus). The overall EV will be:

250 - (.0036*3000) - (.0201*12000) = -$2

It doesn't sound like you are into gambling, but if so, you can actually turn this into a +EV bonus by trying to double up before grinding out the WR. Eseentially, you have a 50% chance of doubling to $1500 and then grinding down to $1248 ($748 profit) in the manner explained above, and a 50% chance of busting (-$500 profit). This would make the EV = (-500 + 748) / 2 = $124.

In summary, if you aren't willing to lose $500 a large percentage of the time, go with the first option knowing that on average you'll break even. Otherwise, go with the riskier, but more profitable option.

the Fortune Room T&C as you listed is correct. whoever "recommended" VP at this place is giving you outdated information and should be berated accordingly.

as it stands, the bonus is not worth your time or money. do not claim the bonus, and ask the site to withdraw your original deposit.

I have a good idea where you're getting your "tips" from, I highly recommend using a less f*cktarded source in the future.

thats really interesting... but i don't quite understand how changing your betting strategy can turn this into a +EV proposition. it seems martingalesque. could you explain that a little more?

Gee, I wonder which site might have told you that? /images/graemlins/confused.gif/images/graemlins/confused.gif/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This is not a +EV bonus if you just play the minimum. The best allowed game is pai gow poker, which has a 2.85% HA. If you grind it out with pai gow, you should expect to lose the entire bonus plus $175 more.

Fortunately, you can get the bonus taken off:

If a player does not want any bonus which has been deposited into their account by the casino then they are entitled to request a casino support consultant to reverse the bonus out of their casino account, by way of email or telephone call, whereafter the reversal will take place. If wagers have taken place on any bonus received, then that bonus may not be removed from your account (either by means of withdrawal or a request to the support staff) until the wagering requirements associated with that bonus have been met.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you've already bet with it, you might as well try playing it like a sticky. Basically, try to double or triple up your money playing VP or blackjack, then grind out the WR at pai gow. Here's the EV if you try to triple up:

.67 * (-500) + .33 * (1750 - 427.5) =$101
(Bust out 2/3 times) (1/3 times, up $1750, then lose 427 to paigow)

Obviously this is very high variance, but if you've got the bankroll to jump into casino whoring with a $500 casino without even reading the T+Cs, I'm sure you can handle it.

Damn, Homer beat me to it.

Basically, doubling up lets you leverage the bonus money. If you win, you win $750, if you lose, you lose $500. When you win, you've magnified the size of the bonus relative to the WR--now you have a $500 bonus, but you only have to bet the same amount, so you won't lose it all.

EV = Bonus - (House Advantage * Amount Wagered)

Basically, you don't have to pay the bonus back should you bust, and the riskier method will result in a lower average amount wagered which increases the EV.

I'm sure others can explain it better than me.

the fortune room bonus is deposit $500, claim $250 bonus (x3). if the OP is talking about just having $500 sitting there, then he probably hasn't claimed the bonus yet via the website. so for a beginner whore, IMO best to just withdraw without penalty and find a new deal elsewhere.

points to OP as he DID read the T&C's before getting in over his head.
