View Full Version : Was this a stupid play?
Party 22. Tightest table I have ever played at in my life. I had been pushing a bit but not every 2nd hand. Both players left to act were tight.
Like my play?

sometimes I feel guilty to pass such a good stealing opportunity, but I hope that SB pushes, BB calls and BB wins

Edit: if SB is competent enough, he should be able to push any 2 here.

I don't like it. You're not the current shortstack, but you could well be if someone wakes up with a big hand. Q8 offsuit doesn't cut the mustard (in the long run), I'm afraid.

Based on your read, wouldn't a raise to t600 be more appropriate?

If the blinds call with 66+,ATs+,AJo+, then pushing is worth 28.4% of the prize pool and folding is worth 27.2% (thank you SNG Power Tools). Even if the blinds call with 44+,A7s+,A9o+,KJs+ pushing is marginally +EV. If the table was as tight as you say, easiest push ever.

I agree with this. Them being tight means two things to me.
1. Theyll fold to a min-raise without a good to premium hand.
2. They'll come over the top with a premium hand allowing you get away.
Then again, not pushing here could be my leak.
