Why do we only hear about dell's 2001fp's here, what's wrong with samsung and viewsonic? Is it a pricing issue (I understand dell puts out a lot of coupons and promotions) or are they just better?

Seriously, what's the big deal?

I saw the Samsungs in stores when I was shopping for a monitor, and they look nice. They seem to be about the same thing as the 2001fp. But at the time, the Samsung was $1100 and the 2001fp was $650.

its very good the dell and its cheap (when they run deals). the more expensive ones like the 213T are a little better quality.

It has a very good price/preformance ratio. But I think Samsung 213T is better. I would buy that if I had the money and would use it mainly for poker.

Better, yes. But I wouldn't say better in terms of price/performance.

It's all about the price. Viewsonic's 20" and the 2001fp are both actually the same lcd panel (i believe the panel is actually made by phillips or something like that). So anyone who tells you the 2001fp is better quality if full of you know what.

The samsung is a nicer monitor (for non-gaming) but is quite a bit more expensive.

There aren't a lot of 1600x1200 monitors for poker, so it typically narrows down to just getting a 2001fp due to the price.

I'm a little up in the air about which to buy. The Samsung seems to be able to be had for just around $50 more after rebate. The only thing that concerns me are the online vendors that I've never heard of before that are selling them. I wish Best Buy would match the online pricing.
