I would 3-bet the turn.

He may, but he did raise UTG+1. Most players aren't raising that there. He's more likely to have KQ or AQ or something.

Even though it's tempting at times, don't search too long for monsters under the bed. 3-bet that turn. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

or QQ, or 99...

Yes, absolutely. If you constantly fear the nuts you wont make money. Is TJs a likely raising hand UTG+1? Villian most likely has AQ hit his Q and raised you. You put your opponents on a range of hands and measure your hand to that range, yours is a very extremely favorable situation, bet bet bet bet.

monsters and rivers been coming out from under the bed all night - think maybe its time to roll it up for the night - down more BB tonight than I think I've ever been.

IMHO, I think you played a bit too passive. A set is a very strong hand. I would reraise the turn and either lead out or check raise the river. More often than not your set will be good here and you want to build the pot.

I haven't read the other replies so I may be totally off base.

PS - Missed the TJs !! Oh well.

Remember, you still had outs vs JT anyway. Board pairing + quads.

So what? You're 22 percent to crack that nut if it is there. You have 9 outs for the full house and one for the quads. Your implied odds are damn good as well, if he does have the nuts on the turn, as you will likely go 3-4 bets on the river.

Too passive. I think I 3 bet the turn. I wouldn't like to try to check raise this river.

3 bet turn...bet river is how I see it being more profitable.

i do like how you bet out on the flop. most players go for a c/r. i think i would have made the hand very profitable for you if you had played not aggressive, but bet for what your hand is worth.

you have a lot of value here, so you're simply betting/raising because it is most likely you have a better hand than villain and you're going to make him pay for it. look at it that way instead of "aggressive versus passive".
