20 left, avg is about 8k, 9 pay - was at a table with mostly below par stacks and got moved to the 'big-stack' table, first and last hand that i was dealt here after the move - i dont know whether or not to be pissed off about playing the hand in the first place, or just the results - i think playing the hand in this spot, with all the chips going in would have set me up to have a nice stack at the final table (144k chips in play total) - the more i think about it, i probably could have picked a better spot, or waited until the tables consolidated to get 10-handed - so am i an idiot for playing this hand in the first place, or should i just kick the dog a few times and move on?

I'd have raised the max coming in with that hand fairly often. Limping would not have been bad on a passive table. Folding it is ok too if the game is loose or agro

Once I was raised preflop, I'd have folded. It's not worth going to war with ~20% of your stack out of position with a marginal hand when you should be able to steal those chips back.

Once you get that flop, all the chips go in and you play showdown poker.

It is not a bad hand to call with if there was no raise and in a very late position.
I personally would fold this hand as the pot has beenraised.
So I feel you made a mistake to call with this hand. But you made even a bigger mistake on the flop (3d Td 9s). Now you only have a top pair and a str8 draw (you dealt Qc Ts Jd Kh), I would never continue with this flop as u are a big underdog.
Your EV is 16.2% the other hands are 33.3% and 55.5%

lol, you don't know you are a big underdog on the flop as your opponent are not kind enough to show their cards to you.

You are getting 3:1 on any call with a very good draw. Folding there is a horrible decision.

thanks for the advice gergery - after thinking about it for a while last night, i should have picked a better spot as i had been playing well up to that point, and the final table was well within reach

its no consolation money-wise, but i did take 3rd in a 20+2 today to ease the pain a bit (though i was chipleader with 4 left and crapped the bed, if i knew a way to get hand histories in an intelligent manner from pokerroom, i'd post the hand that killed me)

Of course u dont know yoour opponents cards, but drawing to a str8 with two suited cards on the flop( and u dont have that flush draw) is definately bad play, especially when there was a bet and a raise.
