Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

SB ($45.95)
BB ($10.55)
UTG ($68.44)
Hero ($38.25)
Button ($51.3)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG raises to $3, Hero calls $3, 3 folds.

Flop: ($6.75) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
UTG bets $3, Hero raises to $8, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $17.75

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $17.75.

These are the notes I took on the villain with my 20 mins of play:

"Makes pot-size bet on flop with mid-pair when in late position. Does not respect raises. Min-raises with AXs"

Was this properly played? Should I have waited to raise him and allowed him to bluff perhaps?

EDIT: I know nothing much happened on this hand. But I end up getting confused with little things and start doubting my choices.

I dont play much SH poker but this seems fairly standard doesnt it?

Raise way more. His weak lead is most likely an AK that missed or a scared JJ, but he could easily have a couple diamonds in his hand (AJ/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, AK/images/graemlins/diamond.gif).

Also, that is a pretty huge PF raise, and I would probably fold this without any good reads, unless you know he will raise that much without AK/AA/KK/QQ, which you have nothing about in your notes.
