These were both first hands of a 50+5 at PP during primetime hours so assume idiot factor = high. Anyone plays these differently?

With the first one, I am mostly worried about the SB and BB. Once they fold on the flop bet, I probably raise the turn big (pretty confident that I am ahead at this point). Slow down on the river but likely call.

With the second one, I dump it the same way. A min raise followed by a huge re-raise has me very spooked and happy to get out of TT only down 30. You are being squeezed since the min-raiser could reraise all in. Definitely dump this one.

Second hand looks fine to me - no need to risk such a big portion of your stack on the first hand with such a large PF re-raise. There are just too many overcards that could drop on the flop.

As for the first hand, I don't like your check on the turn. Yeah, the paired board isn't great, but you basically gave up on the hand. I'd bet this turn and then fold it if I'm raised or slow down on the river if I'm called. Did you really think that either of them had made their draws or that one of them was holding an 8? I'd want to bet that turn to test them.

1st hand I'd probably start out with a raise to about 45-50. Judging by the hands that stayed in, you might have taken down this pot preflop. If they're still in, stay aggressive with it. By checking the turn you gave up control of the hand, and now you don't know where you stand.
2nd hand I might raise to 50-60 over the initial min-raise. If SB still bumps it to 275, I throw it away, too. No point in getting too involved w/ TT this early.

I like them both. I play TT for set value this early, and with an overpair like that, two callers on the flop and a scarecard on the turn, I don't think it's a bad line to check fold it.

The second one is a clear fold.
