Hi Everyone,
This is not a bad beat post. Bad beats happen I can handle that.
My real question is whether this is my fault for not reraising preflop.
Here's my reasoning for what I did:
1. UTG+2 raies 8 * BB. I call here. I figure 8 * BB is enough to drive out the other hands and make this heads up + position on him. After all isn't my goal with AA to reduce the field and have position?
2. By calling his pre-flop raise, I am almost certain he will bet again on the flop regardless of what comes up. Then I plan to come over the top.
Of course my plan was foiled by the CO who called 8 * BB with J9s.
In retrospect, I think I should have re-raised. This would have done two things: (1) get more money in the pot pre-flop (2) maybe drive the CO off his J9s. Then again he called 8 * BB so maybe he would have called more.
Anyway, please let me know how bad my initial reasoning was and whether my revised reasoning would have been a better move.
