i posted this hand earlier in micro and realized that it belonged in SS, hopefully i'll get more responses here...

mp3 has been open raising a lot of hands and plays pretty aggressively. the button is your run of the mill calling station who called a lot of my open raises throughout the session.

Flop: (10.50 SB) Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
MP3 checks, JEM bets, Button calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) A/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
MP3 checks, JEM bets, Button raises, MP3 3-bets, JEM folds, Button caps, MP3 calls.

River: (15.75 BB) K/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
MP3 bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 17.75 BB

i decided to bail out to the three bet on the turn, thinking my two pair was no good (AQ, a set, or even a made straight). would you have called this down? any other thoughts?

Probably should have folded pre flop, putting raiser on A K A Q your demolished and you must have put him on that because you folded to that on the turn. You should not three bet with A J off ever always putting raiser on AK or AQ.

If you suspect the cutoff has attempted to steal with a raise, rereraise to isolate and because you have the best hand.

In this hand MP3 checked three bet, I would fold here also. Sometimes a player does have a hand.

I think you played this hand fine.

against an obvious steal raise, like here. position position position

If you suspect a player of raising "light", in other words attempting to make a move on the blinds, a player should three bet with more liberal hands such as AJ off.

thanks. yea, i took a break from the game for a few months, it was really getting to me...you know how it is, when the game just wasn't fun anymore. my grades certainly thanked me for it...

and yes, AJo in that situation i was in is always a raise/fold play. there is no call....EVER....heh
