MP3 will raise with a wide variety of hands (17% PFR, 51% flops, but only over 30 hands). SB is a solid player that I respect (7.8% raise, 17% flops).

Good one. Nice river bet. I like the 3-bet PF as well.

Maybe I was giving up too much respect to the player, but my thoughts at the time:

His range of hands to cold call in the SB with were not ones that I would want to raise with when he bets out into the field and into a 3-bettor.

My quandry here is the flush draw and the long shot draws like pairs spiking if my Ace is good. But I was so locked in to thinking this player had me beat that I couldn't bring out a raise. One of those situations where you feel like your read is so strong that you doubt where your value is in the raise.

This also lead me to wonder why I bet the river if I felt my read was so strong.

I've been taking a bit of a break. I haven't logged 20 hours of poker in a week in a long time. Some of it was frustration, some was just getting distracted by other things. Ironically, I haven't had a huge downswing. Thanks for asking /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

You've got to raise this turn if you are behind the SB this time the overlay from the clowns will make up for it.

Peace,

I fold pre flop. I don't think 30 hands is enough to someones 17% PFR is high enough that I want to 3 bet AJo

Raise the turn. If SB 3 bets you have an easy fold, you are closing the action and no one raised so none of the other players have an 8. Make them pay for whatever crap/flush draw they are calling with and it will subsidize you against the SBs hand.
