Hi all.
I played in this tourney in the weekend, and the following hand came up. We started 210 players, and only 7 players got paid. Buy-in was 1200 $, and one rebuy. First got payed 40 %, Second 20 %, third 15 %, fourth 10 %, Fifth 6 %, Sixth 5 %, and seventh 4 %.
We're down to 11 players. 6 players at my table, were this hand came up:
Game: 7 card stud.
Limits doubling every 20 minutes.
Spread limit at this moment: 2000-8000 $
Ante: 2000 $
bring-in: 1000 $
Here is the hand:
A deuce bring it in for 1000 $ He has about 20000 in chips
A Six fold. He has about 8500 in chips
A Ace folds. He has about 15000 in chips.
A king raise with 6000, and now has only 5000 left in chips.
A Nine fold. He is chipleader with 25000.
I got 10-13-10, and have 14500 in chips. I decide to reraise with 5000 and to move him all-in.
Bring-in folds, and the king calls:
He turn over his hands showing 2 kings, and wins the pot at the end with a house, and I have only 2 pairs - 10s and 4s. After this hand I only had 2500 back in chips, and get busted a couple of hands later and finished in 8th place........
The reason why I decide to reraise him is that I figured him to be on a steal, and I wanted to find out if he really did have the kings. He was a agressiv player, and had stolen alot of pots earlier on when he was high on board. There was also only a couple of minutes until the limit was double to 4000-16000. And my 14500 would't have lasted long at that limit.
Should I have folded the hand, and then played it safe to get in the money?? I mean only 4 players were to get out, and I was in the money!
Any help is appreciated,
Daniel
