Weird-ish shorthanded blind structure $3/$6

Is this standard operating procedure? $3/$6 game.

When the game gets shorthanded at our casino, they revert to a one small blind only rule.

If there is only one small blind - $1, shouldn't I just wait for big pocket pairs to play. I mean why bother for a buck? (you still need to call $3)

Its ridiculous, I've heard it recommended as the way to go by rock-ish players in casinos I've frequented as well (although it was one BB and no SB, not the other way around).

Theoretically the game should tighten down considerably for the reasons you recommend, however, if the other players aren't adjusting to it and you can still make money post-flop you should adjust your strategy very little.

Yeah, it happened again last night.

I freakin didn't know what to do, which seems silly.

We were 5 handed, I had KJo second to act.

First person folded, and it was to me. I was thinking, well normally I'd raise here, but why bother....?
