Went to the Trop and played 10-20 Hold'em. Game was mostly tight but passive. Quite a few hands with 6-8 players limping in. One of those limpers was monster size and I end up picking it up. Giving me a net proft of $222 for the night. Parking was $4, but years ago you used to be able to park for free.
Went over to the Sands. They charge $7 for parking, but if you go to the promotions club and sign up for a card they give you your $7 back, plus a $10 promotion credit. Before I could finish putting $7 in a machine, I hit two blazing 7 combinations for a total of 250 quarters. By the time I finished playing I cashed out $90.50.
Went over to Bally's and ate at the Sidewalk Cafe Buffet. It was just your average buffet. If you like the kind of food Ray Zee likes you may enjoy it (do not forget what I said about Ray in my last post).
I tried to find the poker room at the Sands, but I couldn't find the 4th floor. Anyway, it's late, so I decided to call it a night.
Tomorrow, I will be on my way up to Foxwoods. I hope I finally will meet John Cole. So, John are you going to be there playing poker?

Good Luck

Mark

The Trop spreads 10-20 now?
Does it run regularly or just on weekends?

good report mark. 4th floor in most of the places i go is directly above floor number three. write it on the back of your hand and you will always have it ready.

say hello to john cole for me. he will be the nerdy looking school teacher guy that follows you around asking poker questions and correcting your english. thats just a guess as i havent run over him yet.

It ran the few weeknights I was there during the spring. It was not a very good game compared to the Taj or the Borgata, and it was raked instead being a time game. The Trop room has really gone downhill--it's not worth playing over there.

In most (all) of the casino parking garages, you can get a transfer when leaving one that will allow you to park in another within 24 hours at no charge.

Also, the Sands poker room is not worth the effort. Maybe 8-12 tables intermixed with the $5 BJ tables. And I think it's still a smoking room.

If you went to AC and skipped the Borgata, were you really in AC? /images/graemlins/ooo.gif

miajag81,

This was the first time I was at the Trop to play poker, so I don't know what their regular spread would be. But, the waiting lists were generally short at the Trop. I didn't even have to wait.

Good Luck

scalf,

The waiting lists for games at Foxwoods were too long. So, I didn't get a chance to play a regular game.

scrub,

It appears that the Trop has changed, since you were last there. They no longer rake the game, it is a $5 per half hour time charge.

Good Luck

Bulldog,

I was in AC for only one night before I left for Foxwoods. Next time, I'll check out the Borgata.

Good Luck

Ray,

At Foxwoods they at least have paper tabs for you to grab, so you can find your way back.

Good Luck
