Risk of Ruin

Hi everybody, first time poster...

A friend has told me that I shouldn't play limit if my bankroll doesn't have 300 big bets at that limit...and mentioned something about a Risk of Ruin formula. Could somebody give me the formula and an explanation for both limit and sit and gos? Thanks!

you'll need to estimate your own win rate and SD per hand to use the formulas there.

6 SB per hand, though, is a typical SD is holdem.
