Default usb drives (flash)
will i be able to move from pc to mac and mac to pc? this is especially important saving and going from eiher to either with word files.

Yes. Sometimes there are small color formatting problems going between PC and Mac with MS office, especially PowerPoint, but you can transfer the documents.
