8-tabling and then my computer got mad at me...

I have been 8 tabling for a while now. Haven't had any real problems. I use Euro and Empire. Tonight my system went nuts on me. Whenever I had multiple skins open it froze sporadically. Sometimes causing all the screens to go white for a period of between 5-35 seconds. Any thoughts on why this might have started happening? Any things I might try to prevent it in the future?
