slick on a non-friendly flush\'n flop, facing fishy foe
$25+2 turbo. One read: Villian is an idiot. I've played w/ him on several occasions -- witnessing horrific play w/ his apparent rich-dead-uncle's willed BR. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (8 handed) converter Hero (t1220) MP1 (t1490) MP2 (t1080) CO (t1980) Button (t1770) SB (t1420) BB (t2790) UTG (t1750) I'm UTG w/AKo (no heart), raise to T80 Villian is MP2, calls -- everyone else folds. Flop: (t190) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) I bet T150 on flop, villian makes it T300...... |

Re: slick on a non-friendly flush\'n flop, facing fishy foe
And the award for alliterative titles goes to...
Ahem, as to the question, I think you have to push or fold to villains RR (right idea?). Given your read, I tend to push, let him show me the ace of hearts and sniffle if a heart shows up. I think villain's being an idiot indicates that he's on a wide enough range of hands that getting all your money in here will be a good move over time. Usually you'll take down the pot or take his whole stack, ocaisonally he makes his flush, and ocaisionally he already has a flush. If the player weren't an idiot I'd fold and keep the ~1000 chips I still have. Thoughts? |

I call and push a non heart turn.

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking you'd have to call a bet on the turn, but I suppose you don't. In that case I like call/pushing a non-heart more.

[thanks for the replies]
yeah......i let it rip on top of his raise to see 85 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. it felt a 'wee' bit reckless. in hindsight, a holding like that should have been expected. ahh, but we WILL meet again! (with index finger pointed skyward triumphantly ). |

Yeah, when you said idiot i wondered if he might have JTs, 78s, 36s...all sorts of hands that should be let go given your preflop raise. Ouch
