I dunno how much to bet on the end, 5/10 PLHE
Opponent just sat down. No notes. Is this a proper value bet, or might I be just as well off shoving it all in since he is shortstacked?

what makes you so inclined to bet the river anyways?

I think I have the best hand. I'm value bettor by trade, I play limit.

then yes that seems like a good value bet.

I'm sure you know this, but it's a question of whether you have the best hand when you are called.
That being said, I would give him A7. I think $350 is the right bet. |

Re: I dunno how much to bet on the end, 5/10 PLHE
the only thing that's problematic about this amount is you are effectively pot committed (i.e. you are not folding for ~400 more), yet most times he raises when he's winning and only calls when you are winning, thus you miss some value.

I would check behind. I don't think you'll be called enough by 78s or A7s or whatever enough to make up for the times you lose.

Re: I dunno how much to bet on the end, 5/10 PLHE
I disagree. What do you have him on? Unless this guy is extremely tricky, I think you can put him on 88 99 A7 or even like a two-pair that hates that the bottom card is paired. I dunno, I think betting is good. In the right spot here I might even shove it all in because its not even a pot sized bet and you can expect calls when you are ahead.
