Default Open Letter to Gaming Club

I am making a plea to resurrect the Open Internet Challenge (OIC) again on GCP.

The facts are this, during the 2 sessions of the OIC, my poker play, was lets just say, golden. Since then, it has fallen off immensely, and need the structure and push that the OIC offered.

I know others enjoyed the OIC immensely as well, and welcome them to write as well on this post.

If you can not, understood, but the OIC was a great tool that shouldnt be allowed to end...

I'm using the OIC format on party right now, but have never tried GCP. Is there any reason that you guys chose that site, or was it just for consistency. Just curious.

It's because TGC gave everyone $50 to do it. That's why everyone begs for it to come back, they want free money.

If the structure that the OIC offered was so awesome, why doesn't anyone who loves it so much just use their own $50?

Almost exactly.

It was a case of TGC choosing us as a group of players they wanted to play at their site. They gave everyone $50 each to try the OIC, plus daily or weekly cash prizes and stuff, plus some big prizes for the first players to complete the Challenge.

I think three people managed to complete it. A couple of others had spectacular crashes and burns - or that might have been before TGC days - hence the tilt-safety-valve being added.

JasonHoldEm did a lot of work on it, and he may have kept the more detailed small-print rules that TGC used. However, basically, it was done on a trust basis between us all, in the spirit of good and honest competition.

I never got involved, but I did follow this somewhat. Do you remember off hand the players that made the grade? oh, and how much was the final goal?

That information may be in one or other of these two threads. (Everything else must be, going by the length of them!)

Edit:

From one of the posts:

StoneAge completed the Challenge in about a week

I have never played at TGC but I would probably sign up if it was offered again. That is just a statement of fact not really begging because I am cool either way. Do they have a decent multi structure there?

Frankly that and soft competition is mostly what I care about.
