Default move up to 1/2 for bonus clearing?

im going to be depositting $1500 for various bonuses (especially EP). i just started playing limit (5/1 on party) and im .53bb/100 at 4k hands. would it be safe/smart for me to play 1/2 while clearing the bonuses?

i have been playing poker for a year but mostly NL s/gs and mtts, but not so good at limit yet. if you need me to post my limit stats i will.

i dont want to move up to 1/2 clear the bonus and break even lol. 5/1 rakes at $5 and so does 1/2 so it would be much faster, so i dno what to do any help?

Well look, when playing double your normal limit there is always risk. I don't recommend this unless you are prepared to lose. Other than that, you have the roll for 1/2, so perhaps this is a decent time to try it. All things considered... I vote no.

P.S. - does 1/2 really rake at the same spot as .5/1?

You're better off playing Party NL 25 since rake starts at $2 and you said you're a NL player.

good point. But if you're at limit, stay with 50 cent until you're beating it for 2BB/100

Nope I played them during the summer and fall try and find games that are above 16 during the days. At night they are fat but if you are playing during working hours every player except for the bad donaters is a rock.......

This is true. Especially during bonus days, the 1/2 full tables are full of decent players. You get checkraised fairly often, which basically never happens on 0.5/1.
That being said, you should try the limit out. The fluctuations are not as bad and you should be able to beat the game.

Just so you can weigh it up:

My PT stats at 50/1 were
14,000 hands 3.57BB/100 which is fairly solid

1/2:
11,000 hands -0.44BB/100 = -$104.00

Remember the bonus is not relative. If you move up to 1/2 you can easily swing your bonus away (50BB). I'd probably suggest staying at your limit until you've cleared all your bonuses. From memory party skin bonuses take thereabout the same time regardless of 50/1 or 1/2.
