Default Re: Odds of KK meeting a set of 8s three times in a row?

[ QUOTE ]
I think it's a 10% chance Im up against a pair of 8s when I have a pair kings

Say what?

If you have one opponent, the probability he has 8-8 if you hold K-K:

C(4,2)/C(50,2) = ~.49%

Probability an 8 hits the flop (and no king):

1 - C(44,3)/C(46,3) = ~12.75%

So (.0049 * .1275)^3 or roughly 4,100,919,133.7 to 1.

This is essentially saying "the next 3 times I get K-K, what are the odds that I'll be heads up against 8-8 and he'll hit a set on the flop, and I won't". You never mention the number of people at the table which obviously comes into play.
