Default Line check

Wasn't sure if I should keep being aggressive on the turn or not, was first hand so no reads. Should I have done anything different?

The whole hand looks pretty good to me. Looks like maybe he was trying to trap you with a 9? I like checking behind on this turn card.

Maybe sometimes, but 1st hand of the tourney w/ no reads, I'm more than happy to see a flop w/o re-raising.

I was thinking about reraising preflop, but I decided this was one of the hands that a flat call would work well with, if an ace or king flopped I'd be done with it, and if a jack or unders hit, I could take control of it.

Not raising before the flop isn't a crime, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't with a raise in front of me with JJ.

The flop raise is way too small, you are giving him 3-1 to call, so he can call with a wide variety of hands you may want out. Try giving only 2-1 when you want to raise someone out.

Otherwise the hand is played well, I especially like your value bet on the river, I miss too many of those fearing monster.

nh.

Woodguy
