Crappy river card, can I overcall?
Relatively new to table. Not sure what UTG could limp/3 bet with. HU on the river I would call the c/r. Can I overcall?

Re: Crappy river card, can I overcall?
I don't think you can call there. For 3 bet ranges...AK and KK come to mind. Maybe for sanity's sake you throw a bet in but that's about it.
EDIT: Way the flop action went, it looks like he's got KK. |

With 21.5:1 odds I don't care what he LRRs with, if it's not HU, etc etc. I just call

Re: Crappy river card, can I overcall?
I don't bet this river if I'm planning to call a check/raise. Just check.

[/ QUOTE ] I understand, I value bet to get a call, not a check raise. And FWIW, I would have called the c/r, but I hated to overcall. |

Re: Crappy river card, can I overcall?
Weird. Preflop LRR from UTG, then UTG+1 comes alive on the flop and we don't get check-reraised by UTG and everybody's still in at the end, with UTG c/r'ing the river.
No, you can't call this, but you have to, so you shouldn't have bet it. There is no hand in a preflop LRR range that you're ahead of, here. The spade flush just came in, as did the Broadway straight. Make the crying call, and then punch yourself in the face for having bet the river in the first place. |
