I guess you're only a real man if you drive something like this:

HAHA, listen, just because you are homophobes or something doesnt mean I am. I never equated the mini to being gay feminine or weak. Its just very small, like a go cart, and it reminds me of the one I had when I was a kid.

PS, I hate trucks, very hoosier...er (see redneck unless youa re from STL)

I'm big on the A3 as well. If I could afford it, there'd be one sitting in my driveway at this very moment.

I've never heard of any reliability problems with the A3. Are they actually pretty unreliable?

At any rate, if I had my pick, I'd have some sort of hatch. I don't know why, but I love fast little hatchbacks. An A3, VW GTI (slightly shorter version of the A3, but still), or a BMW 130i when it comes stateside. Man, that'd be hot.

good one, i laughed.

but the audi/vw reliability was harpooned in 2002/2003 with the ignition coil and window regulator issues. the 'cases per 100' statistics went through the roof because of the coils. there are 4 of them. if one dies, your engine dies. the ones from the factory were known to be defective, but if you got serviced they would only replace the ones that had actually died due to a parts shortage. that means people left the dealer, blew another of their coils, and repeated the same process up to 4 times.

german autos are not a beacon of reliability, but audi/vw got a bum rep stats-wise due to those two issues. minis, on the other hand, have been shown to be generally unreliable...

i'll probably be ordering a loaded a3 from germany this week. i just wish they had quattro with an fsi engine.
