Default I hate how I played this

Online 10/20 great game (9 handed)

Folded to a steamer in MP who raises, I 3-bet in LMP with Th Ts, loose/passive CO quickly calls, LAG (but not maniacal) button caps, loose/passive BB calls, all call.

Flop: Js, 9d, 6h (5 players, 20 small bets)

Everyone quickly checks to button who checks after a long pause (this player would frequently make long pauses when he/she was unsure what to do with a marginal hand).

Turn: 9h (Js 9d 6h) 5 players, 10 BB

Checked to me, I bet, CO & button call, all others fold.

River Kh (9h Js 9d 6h) 3 players 13 BB

Checked to button who bets, I make a painful fold

I think the Villain in this hand could be taking a stab at the pot with an unimproved AQs more than 6% (1 out of 15) of the time here.

The pot is big, make the crying call.

Why wouldn't you bet the flop and force the button to re-raise, knocking out some over cards?

i agree with the fold on the river, you are probably good here 1:15 times, but not after the CO called your bet on the turn. you have to beat 2 players in this hand and i dont think its all that likely.

I would call on the river. Everything else is fine.

I don't think the flop check is fine. The pot is very big, everyone checked to us and the flop is not very dangerous. I think this screams for a bet.

BTW, would you check-call a single bet on the flop assuming the button bet and got a couple callers?

You're certainly getting the right odds to call, even if someone has a J (assuming there's no KQ out there).

I'm still dumbfounded why more people aren't tellling him to bet the flop.

I would rather just bet the flop. That's one of the reasons why I hated how I played the hand. But, to answer your question, yes I would call getting better than 20: 1.
