At the time this hand just felt wrong. Now I'm not sure I could do anything differently. Checking on 4th just seems too weak. On fifth I don't think I can let up on the pressure. Anyone not go for a checkraise on the river?

Looks good, far from crazy. In fact, I will sometimes 3-bet 5th out of spite. Calling is probably better, though.

Why didn't you fold on 5th street? No good player will have started with anything other than (2 heart babies)Jh. He called on 4th street (possibly being afraid of two pair) then raised on ifth when he hit his flush card. You got lucky.

people very rarely play this tight in my experience. He can have a bunch of random crap here, but split jacks with a buried heart, rolled jacks sometimes (yes, they loooooooove to slowplay) and all sorts of random crap. I'm not folding 4 ro a low and a pair here to a raise on third, and the 3flush is a nice bonus.

I think you played it fine IMO. What were you thinking you could have done differently? I think you have to bet fifth without a doubt. Checking here gives up way to much i think unless you want to really mess with him and check raise. I play it the same on the river out of routine, but if you lead into him I think there is a decent chance of getting in another bet. Nice hand. How has the 10-20 game been lately? I haven't had a chance to play in a while?

Yeah, fold when you're getting 6.35-1 and in the worst reasonable case have a low draw for half the pot and in the best case are in much better shape... Please make lots of these folds if you're in a game against me someday.

Don't mean to be dismissive, but come on, that's really bad.

Nice hand, sir. Fifth street is fine, especially because you're not in such bad shape in the worst case, and you're likely to keep pressure on a worse hand or induce an unwise semibluff. Obviously this is opponent-dependent to some degree, but I have a hard time picturing a common opponent type you don't want to be betting into. Weakies will fold better hands, maniacs will throw money at you, lots of people will just call with many hands they would have bet if you checked... I can't imagine how the total universe of weighted combinations of players and hands favors a check.

And yeah, I think it's good to checkraise the river here.
