Has this happened to you guys recently?

You're sitting at a MTT, and win a few hands or do something to draw attention to yourself, and then people start spouting your tourney record from www.thepokerdb.com?

It's sorta weird - I think a couple wanna scare me into wondering how they got the knowledge - LOL - and a couple of course just wanna see how good you really are.

And now I've seen a couple people use it to needle someone who's been running them down - trying to use it Phil Hellmuth style.

questions....comments?

This is far worse than talking about 2+2 or pot odds or whatever. Indisputable proof to a fish that he loses consistently over the long term... I guess mtt fish justify it by hoping for the big score.

I run thepokerdb.com.

Oddly enough, that anger that people harbor towards someone who beats them at the poker table is probably our best marketing tool. I didn't intend it to be that way, but that's what has developed.

yah, I joined the DB a few months ago as a member from pscrew.com, but I never woulda thought I'd be seeing people talk about it on Pokerstars chat -

Twice in the last week - can't recall it before that...

Very, very nice database, btw- thanks for starting it up...

Heh, it's actually a pretty frequent subject of chat in Stars MTTs. In November alone, we've had over 10,000 unique user logins... it's grown very fast with pretty much zero marketing effort on our part.

In case you missed my post from a few weeks ago, this is a new display we're working on... (although I should caution that it will be subscription -- the normal interface will remain the same): http://www.thepokerdb.com/sample.php

I don't know what's going on with the email address.

But what's your Stars name?
