I don't think i would, which is why i would be inclined to bet the river if i was mason.

When you don't get raised on the turn, your king is too likely to be good. Check the river only with the intention of check/raising.

The only reason most high limit LAGs need to bet is for you to check.

first three streets clearly played well, but i dont know about that river play. who bluffs there? looks like a clear bet to me.

I agree with the river looking like a value bet. What I want to know is if you're villain are you betting two queens here.

Well since we're putting ourselves in the villian's shoes, do you get to the river and call a bet with two queens?

edit: and to answer your question, no I wouldn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if the player described above would.

I have to confess that this is the sort of hand where I tend to feel lost. I have a medium strength hand out of position against a very aggressive player. In this sort of situation, I frequently resort to checking and calling. Possibly after putting in a single raise -- depending on the strength of my hand. This at least has the advantage of not folding, which is very important against this type of player. But I'm sure it has room for considerable improvement.

Here's hoping Mason can give a better framework for thinking about this type of situation. I certainly could use one.

I like a river bet. You might be behind KQ and KJ, but they will just call on the river. And since your calling on the river anyway you might as well bet.
But if you think he will bluff on the river The check is fine. I think either line works.

Mason check-raises the flop, bets the turn despite your flop 3-bet, and bets the river. Are you going to call him with any old thing? But now he checks the river and you're a high-limit loosie who has just lost a pot to him. Aren't you going to bet most anything of value or bluff when he checks?
