I agree with checking the river bet because you want to induce a bet from a lesser hand. I think the question is do you check raise. Depending on tendancies, i think most lAGGY with top pair good kicker get an extra bet in on the turn so I consider check raising depending on my read.

my line...
if the guy is really lag (a losing lag) i figure my hand for good. i lead right into him expecting a raise then ill 3 bet him. now if the turn is a non heart i check raise him and lead out on the river. granted my image is probably wilder than yours.
