Default Continuation bet after missing flop is pot-committing?

Stars $22

Hero's in MP+2 with about 15 BBs and A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and just moved to the table three hands earlier. No reads. Mid-tournament, money's quite a ways away.

Preflop: UTG+1 (with 21 BB) calls, some folds, Hero raises to 4BB, some folds, Villain in the CO (24 BB) calls, button blinds and UTG+1 fold. Pot's now 10.5 BBs

Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Okay, so Hero's now in first position and has.. well, not much. Backdoor nut flush draw and gutshot wheel draw, as well as a couple of overcards that may or may not be clean. If he leads with a continuation bet of ~5ish BBs, he's effectively pot committed (6 BBs left, at least 20.5 BBs in the pot if Villain calls).

The preflop call of a 4BB raise suggests a middle pair, most likely, in which case this flop is pretty much perfect for Villain. So a raise from the Villain would not be unexpected.

What's Hero's play?

Thats Why You don't raise AJos here...

If you are going to raise here it has to be a push, your raise was not enough to get villians to fold decent holdings. And If you raise and are called the pot is so big you have one move , push or check fold. Co has to have a very good holding here, unless UTG=1 is just a goofy limp folder from that position. Its hard to tell I would think you could push and pray , you do have some outs if called. I dont se AK or AJ calling a push since you have the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If ten ten calls you well so be it, but hands like 88-99 are going to be put to the test here.

Limp, push or Fold That takes care of the no wiggle room on the flop.
