Re: What is the best poker play you\'ve seen on TV?
[ QUOTE ]
Given what's at stake in the hand, I like Moneymaker moving all-in and bluffing Farha off the best hand with his busted draw when heads up. Farha read it correctly and still couldn't call it. Sheriff [/ QUOTE ] I thought Moneymaker made a great play there as well. No matter what many players on this forum think of him, Moneymaker made a great, calculated play in this instance. By raising on the turn, he gave credibility to his river bluff. |

Re: What is the best poker play you\'ve seen on TV?
[ QUOTE ]
Final 3 players in the WPT Championship. Barry Greenstein's preflop all-in raise with 73o (?) after dreamkiller (or whatever) led out with a big bet that the carwash owner agonized over and then called. Barry had them both covered and they both folded. It's easily the most beautiful play I've seen on TV. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't remember it being quite the same. The WPT instance was particularly great because of how much the carwash owner agonized before calling the first bet. Barry just played right off it. [/ QUOTE ] This play came about differently than it appeared. I missed making a good play earlier where Chip raised in, desperate to see a flop (because I had been bullying people around), and James Tippin made a weak call. I folded and promised myself the next time someone raises in and James makes a weak call I am going to reraise. The extra money from James made this play worthwhile. Randy had loosened up, after a tight start. He raised in and I was ready to make the play even before James acted. His first second of hesitation was fine, but the more he agonized the worse I felt. I thought Randy might decide I was raising because of James's obvious weakness and this may sway him into calling me with a marginal hand. I had 9-3 offsuit, by the way. Barry |

Not hold'em but in 7 card stud. Ted Forrest against some actor (something brown?) in the final 3. The actor bluffs after every card and Forrest calls him down with a pair of 2's.

Re: What is the best poker play you\'ve seen on TV?
[ QUOTE ]
I really really liked Ted Forrest's play from WPT season 1 with AJ. Alan G. open raised UTG with JJ, and Doyle moved all in with Q8 or something. Ted re-raised all in thinking that Alan couldn't call and knowing that Doyle was bluffing. Ted was right and Alan shouldn't have called, but he did. Tough luck for Ted, a great play gone bad. [/ QUOTE ] If I remember correctly, Alan was in the big blind with the JJ and Doyle opened the pot by moving in. Ted took a long time to think before pushing in, after which Alan called from the BB with his jacks. I do not think that Alan opened for a raise, but it has been over a year since I saw this episode, so forgive me if I am mistaken. Anyway, if the action went like this, then Alan's call with the jacks would have made more sense, as the long pause from Ted would indicate that his hand was not all that strong. But it has been over a year since I saw that episode, so forgive me if I have recalled the action incorrectly. |

Moneymaker's long stare down and eventual call of Dutch Boyd's overcards during the 2003 WSOP had to be the best ever. Also Phil Hellmuth's bet and reraise against Tony D was great too. [/ QUOTE ] I cant stand chris moneymaker and his dumb play sam farah deserved to win that tourney and was sams mistake that made chris look good, sorry for being off topic i just cant stand all the hype he got over i, its sickining.
