I like using Texas toast to make French toast.

And I don't mean after its been buttered/grilled, they sell really think white bread called texas toast that I assume is meant to be used to make the real thing...

Best french toast I've ever had was at a place called Petunia's on St. Louis in the French Qtr.

Thicker, crustier bread ==> better french toast

Try making it from some day-old leftover baguette remains sometime.
