Re: TOP FIVE NUMBERS
no no no...I wasn't trying to be critical at all. Honestly. I know its hard to tell being that we're online at all.
I just thought that someone who actually wrote in a serious response (and like I said, I like your list - phi's my top choice by the way) might be interested in a serious response. Sorry if it came off differently. |

Re: TOP FIVE NUMBERS
[ QUOTE ]
Nominees, no order... e 1 0 10 Pi Phi Radical 2 i (kind of) [/ QUOTE ] i think pi is completely overated as a number. so is e, to some extent. radical 2 is an interesting nominee, i like it. as for the top 5 numbers, 0 has to be number one, and its not close. |

Re: TOP FIVE NUMBERS
How dare you insult my favorite number by saying he's not good enough to be on the list. You must be a bad name.

Re: TOP FIVE NUMBERS
The five most mathematically significant numbers are 0, 1, e, i, pi. And
e^(i*pi) + 1 = 0. |

I'd still like to hear a mathematician take a crack at this. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure it would be no problem to get grant money to research such an important problem as this. |
