I am currently taking the 100 SNG challenge, reading this thread periodically. Plodding along at 35% in the money. I also play 15-30 hold 'em at the local B&M casinos from time to time, and 20-40 in Vegas.

I think its hilarious that some of you play 3+ tables at a time, up to 8 tables! 2 SNG tables max for me, and that is a challenge. I can just imagine what a nervous, jittery, spastic player I would become at a B&M poker table if I were conditioned to regularly play multiple internet tables at a time. I enjoy live games with people better, reading tells, collecting stacks of real chips, etc. Personally, I see internet poker as practice for "real" poker, and I can't imagine what I would gain by blitzing through multiple tables at once.

Just my personal take on the SNGs and internet play. Anyone else feel the same?

Can someone tell me what ROI stands for? I figured out ITM is "In the Money", but I don't know ROI. Thanks!

Return on Investment

Calculated by dividing net profit by the amount invested (buy+fee).

If you played 10 Party 10+1 SNGs, you would have invested $110. If you took first once, second once and third twice, your net profit would be 120-110 = 10.

ROI = 10/110 = 9.1%

For future questions like this, see t-perkin's developing SNG FAQ, posted above.

Thanks for posting your statistics. I have played in 30 sit and go games since I started playing poker two weeks ago after watching a game on ESPN. Most of the games are $2 + $0.20 with 20 seats. I will play another 70 games of $2 + $0.20 before deciding whether to move to $5 + 0.50. After 30 games my results are:

ROI is 39%
ITM is 40%

Thank you! From your comments here and other threads I know I'm weak in heads-up because there is a disproportionate number of second place finishes. Of course I must be weak in many areas being a complete amateur!

I will check out the heads up and shorthanded section soon!

Oh and I thought I'd mention that my bankroll got started from a $5 free roll ITM finish. Now I'm up to $60! I feel that a bankroll level of at least $100 and an ROI of 30%+ is required to move to $5 + $0.50 level. Sound reasonable?

Pacific has them. UB has $1 Sit N Gos, but I've only seen them this month during the promotion.
