Default PokerNow is detecting PV/PT or possibly PokerStove

I just got an email from PokerNow, complaining that their new security software has detected that I'm running prohibited software and asking me to stop.

Anybody else seen this? If you look at their legalese (and that of all the Party skins) it includes a prohibition of opponent-profiling software and all kinds of stuff, and reserves the right to look at the list of programs running on your PC and other things to get their information, so I guess they're within their rights.

If I had to guess they would be more concerned with Poker Stove, than anything else. As PV and GT simply display information that theoretically you could record yourself.

PokerStove however could be seen as "havng a Program play your hand".

This is why I run all my poker clients inside a VMware virtual machine. It's none of their damned business what other software I may or may not have running, or what my screen looks like.

(Of course, this wouldn't help with the various heads-up displays, but I do use PokerTracker, GameTime, and PokerStove--- on a separate 'computer'.)

I find PT/Game Time a big hassle, and only use because I know I have to keep up with others who are. If all sites banned all software I'd be perfectly happy.

Interesting idea...possibly worth the $189.

Yeah, but the "opponent-profiling" clause of the legalese certainly would include PT/PT/GT+/etc.
